Welcome to the latest Sonar team members!

Apr 12, 2018 by Simon Westlake

I'm very happy to officially welcome two new members to the Sonar team - Shane MacDonald, previously Senior Accounts Manager at KP Performance, and Jimmy Thomson, previously Professional Services Manager at CDW.

Shane has been with KP Performance since the beginning, and has been instrumental in the growth of the company from a tiny startup to a huge manufacturer that was recently acquired by Infinite Electronics. Shane brings an enormous knowledge of the fixed wireless ISP industry with him, and I can't wait to see what he can do with Sonar! Shane will be primarily working on business growth and development - this means helping us figure out what direction we should be taking the software and the company to best serve all our customers.

Sonar 1.6 coming soon!

Mar 18, 2018 by Simon Westlake

Sonar 1.6 will be out in the next few days, bringing integration with Incognito for DOCSIS provisioning. We're excited to see what the cable operators out there using Sonar can do with this new integration!

There are many more improvements in 1.6, including streamlined Telrad provisioning, significantly improved map performance (especially for operators with 100k+ subscribers mapped), tons of new webhooks, search improvements, generation of the FCC form 477 voice report, and more.

Sonar 1.5 and Sonar 2.0

Jan 17, 2018 by Simon Westlake

Sonar 1.5 is on the horizon, and it's got some goodies in it. The big new feature is an integration with Avalara, which enables automated tax calculation for any service in the US or Canada. If you sell voice services (especially across in state lines, or in states with complex taxing jurisdictions), I'm sure you can see that this is a huge feature!

We've also spent some time combing through the feature request list to try to knock out some of the highest rated requests, and I'm pleased to announce Sonar 1.5 will also include the ability to have multiple recipients on tickets, and date selection in the aged receivable report - two highly requested changes.

The last few months

Nov 28, 2017 by Simon Westlake

Things have been very hectic in the last few months since our WispMon acquisition! We've been hard at work migrating WispMon customers over to Sonar, but here's a few of the other things that we've accomplished.

We released a new DHCP batching tool to enable high performance DHCP and option 82 on ISP networks. Check it out on our GitHub at We were nominated for Service of the Year at WISPAPALOOZA 2017! We've released numerous updates with hotly requested features from our feature request tool - check out the changelogs on our forum. The Sonar team has been grown significantly in the last few months - we've welcomed almost ten new staff members recently! We've also been working very hard on the next major Sonar release over the last few months. We're starting to pick up some real steam now, and I'll have more news about Sonar 2.0 early in the new year.
