Sonar + Plume

Turn your Plume deployment into a revenue engine.

A production middleware integration between Sonar and Plume. Automates account provisioning from subscriber signup. Syncs CPE inventory. Maps your service tiers directly to Plume features. Your operations team stops eating the manual provisioning tax, and your commercial team can finally ship premium WiFi as a real product.

The problem

Plume is half-deployed at most ISPs.

You bought Plume to deliver a better WiFi experience. The pods are shipped, the platform is up, the marketing page is live. But somewhere between subscriber signup and pod activation, there is a workflow that is still done by hand. Account creation, hardware assignment, credentials, service tier setup. Every install. Every move. Every disconnect. The cost is hidden because it is spread across the calendar. And the premium WiFi tier your commercial team has been wanting to launch is still on a roadmap slide, because the back office cannot ship it cleanly.

12 min

Average manual provisioning time per install

Across account setup, hardware assignment, credentials, and service mapping.

$11K+

Typical annual labor cost

For manual Plume provisioning at 100 installs per month. Does not count error remediation or rework.

0

Net new ARR from tiers that never shipped

Premium WiFi tiers that back-office friction killed before launch.

What you get

Automate, monetize, scale.

The integration does the connective work that most operators end up doing by hand. Operations stops paying the manual tax, and your commercial team finally has the back-office foundation to launch premium WiFi tiers.

Automate

The manual workflow, gone.

Subscriber signup in Sonar triggers Plume account creation, hardware assignment, credential setup, and service activation automatically. No more spreadsheets, no more duplicate entry, no more inconsistent installs.

Monetize

Premium WiFi becomes shippable.

Your Sonar service tiers map directly to Plume feature sets. HomePass, advanced security, business-class WiFi, provisionable as premium tiers, not aspirational roadmap items.

Scale

Operations that hold under growth.

Doubling your subscriber base does not double your provisioning headcount. M&A integrations and BEAD-funded expansion do not bottleneck on manual WiFi setup.

How it works

From signup to active WiFi, automatically.

The integration listens for events in Sonar and translates them into the right actions in Plume. The whole lifecycle is covered, not just the initial install.

  1. 1

    Subscriber signs up

New account created in Sonar. Service tier selected. The integration picks up the event automatically.

  2. 2

    Plume account provisioned

Plume account is created. Hardware is assigned from inventory. Credentials are set. No manual entry.

  3. 3

    Feature set activated

The right Plume features go live based on the Sonar service tier. Premium tiers ship as a real product.

  4. 4

    Lifecycle managed

Upgrades, moves, and disconnects flow through automatically. Inventory stays in sync. Orphaned accounts disappear.

What changes

The cost goes away. The upside opens up.

20 hrs/mo

Reclaimed for higher-value work

Manual provisioning eliminated for a typical operator running 100 installs a month. That time goes back to growth, support, or whatever you have been deferring.

+$126K/yr

Net new ARR from premium WiFi

On a 10,000-subscriber base, a $7 monthly premium tier taken by 15% of subscribers. The integration makes it operationally executable, not just theoretical.

Consistent

Install-to-activation experience

Every subscriber lands the same way. No credential typos, no missed feature assignments, no support escalations from inconsistent setup.

Pricing

Transparent, tiered by subscriber count.

One-time implementation fee plus a monthly recurring fee based on how many subscribers you serve. No usage-based surprises.

One-time Professional Services

$12,500

Implementation by Sonar's Professional Services team.

Tier 11 to 1,500 subscribers$100/mo
Tier 21,501 to 10,000 subscribers$250/mo
Tier 310,001 to 100,000 subscribers$500/mo
Tier 4100,000+ subscribers$1,000/mo

Is this right for you?

Best fit for operators in this situation.

  • You already have Plume deployed and the relationship is healthy
  • You are evaluating Plume and want to know how it scales operationally
  • Your team is doing any part of Plume provisioning manually today
  • You are growing through BEAD-funded expansion or M&A
  • You want to launch a premium WiFi tier and the back office is blocking you
  • Your support team is fielding escalations tied to inconsistent installs

If you are a Sonar customer running Plume, the easiest way to find out is a short scoping call with your Account Manager. We can walk through your current workflow and tell you honestly whether the math works for your scale.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Honest about scope. The integration does a lot, but it is not everything.

How long does implementation take?
Most implementations land inside a few weeks from SOW signature to go-live. The actual time depends on the complexity of your current setup, the state of your Plume deployment, and how your service tiers are configured in Sonar.
What if we already built something internally?
Most internal solutions we have seen cover a piece of the workflow, typically account creation. They rarely cover full lifecycle (moves, upgrades, disconnects), inventory sync, or service-tier-to-feature mapping. We are happy to compare side-by-side honestly.
Does this work if we are not on Plume yet?
The integration is built for operators running Plume. If you are evaluating Plume, this is relevant context for how it actually scales operationally.
What happens to our existing Plume accounts?
Existing accounts stay in place. The integration takes over from go-live forward, so new subscribers, moves, and changes flow through automatically. We can also work through your existing data during onboarding.
Can we run a pilot first?
Yes. Most customers go live on a defined subset of their subscriber base or service area first, validate the workflow, and then expand.
What is not included?
It is not a replacement for the Plume management console (you still manage Plume features and policies there). It does not change your contract terms with Plume. It does not provide WiFi support directly to your subscribers.
