The Colorado Broadband Office has recently commenced the application process for a $162 million grant program, which is being financed by a federal pandemic relief initiative. Known as the Advance Colorado Broadband program, this funding opportunity is made possible through the Capital Project Fund of the 2021 American Rescue Plan. It welcomes participation from municipalities, counties, special districts, tribes, co-operatives, internet service providers, and other entities that intend to undertake broadband infrastructure projects in areas where a majority of the population lacks access to high-speed internet.
The Colorado Broadband Office will give priority to applications proposing projects focused on building last-mile fiber. Wireline and fixed wireless technologies will also be considered within the program’s scope.
Applications for the Advance Colorado Broadband program will be accepted until August 21, 2023, and the awardees will be notified in November. To learn more about eligibility, view the official program outline.
