If there’s one word that defined our experience at this year’s Broadband Communities Summit, it was connection.
Not just the kind that runs through fiber, but the kind that runs between people — across booths, through conversations, and inside the Pulse Podcast Lounge where Sonar Software made its mark.
Even as questions swirled around the future of BEAD funding, the energy at the Summit was undeniable. Providers, builders, and community advocates weren’t slowing down. They were leaning in — to conversations, to innovation, and to each other.
Our leaders walked the floor with intention — not to sell, but to listen. They met face-to-face with long-time partners and new voices alike, hearing first-hand about the challenges and wins shaping day-to-day operations in the field.
From service delivery struggles in underserved areas to the real-time impact of policy shifts, what came through was a shared commitment: to keep showing up for the communities we serve.
“This industry doesn’t stop. Even with funding questions in the air, providers are pushing forward — and they want partners who get it,” one team member shared.
Inside the Sonar-sponsored Pulse Podcast Lounge, we set out to do something simple but powerful: listen.
Over the course of the Summit, the Pulse Podcast Lounge became a gathering point — a space where broadband leaders could sit down, take a breath, and talk honestly about the challenges and opportunities shaping our industry.
We had the privilege of hosting powerhouse voices like:
- Curtis Dean, Executive Director of Community Broadband Action Network
- Tracy Doaks, CEO of MCNC
- Megan Steckly, CEO of Compudopt
From the ripple effects of BEAD funding uncertainty to the accelerating role of artificial intelligence in network operations, the conversations covered ground that was timely, complex, and deeply human.
We didn’t just talk technology. We talked equity. We talked urgency. And we talked about the responsibility we all share in shaping digital infrastructure that serves every community.
The Pulse Podcast Lounge wasn’t just a content hub — it was a collaboration space. We even connected with fellow podcasters and media leaders from platforms like Beyond the Cable, Connected Nation, and Total Telecom for crossover-style episodes that helped deepen the dialogue.
Be on the lookout for our Bandwidth Unplugged mini-series — special episodes recorded live from the Pulse Podcast Lounge that capture the full spectrum of voices that joined us in Houston.
What this event proved — in every handshake and every taping — is that connectivity means more than access. It means alignment. It means listening. It means building trust through conversations that don’t always start with a slide deck.
At Sonar, we’re proud to play a part in shaping that kind of dialogue.
If you visited us at the Pulse Podcast Lounge, thank you. And if you missed us this time, don’t worry — we’re just getting started.
